Whether its your first child or your fourth, many people like yourself want to be able to give nature a helping hand in determining the sex of their child. And with all we now know about conception its easier than ever to try to fall pregnant with a specific gender.

To get a girl baby there are a few factors that you need to take into consideration, namely timing of any lovemaking that you do, the positions that you engage in and also diet to change the pH levels of your vagina to a more acidic environment.

So let’s look at these three factors.

Timing is important for gender selection because the male sperm and female sperm are different in behaviour and strength. The male sperm are fast and agile and in a race (all things being equal) would reach the egg a lot quicker than the female sperm which are heavier and slower. However the female sperm are a lot more hardy and can live longer inside your body.

For this method to work you need to know your ovulation day. You can usually find out your usual ovulation day by charting your basal body temperature or using ovulation predictor kits. Once you know this day you should aim to try for a baby three to four days prior to your ovulation day. This will give the female sperm an advantage and improve your odds of getting that girl.

Secondly, certainly positions also favor having a girl baby such as those that deposit the sperm closer to the entrance of the vagina so they have to swim further (remember the female sperm are strong and are more likely to survive the longer swim).

Finally, food also plays a part in your role to conceive a daughter. Certain foods help change your vaginal secretions to more acidic which favors the female sperm more. Those foods include fruits, juices and sweets. I guess the sugar and spice and all things nice really do apply to baby girls!

These three factors really well help you improve your chances of getting a baby girl. And while there is no guarantee that you will get the child of your choosing, you know you gave it the best chance of making it happen.
